Bowls Hampshire Mini Break

Following the success of the 2013 holiday at the Dorset Bowls Resort it is proposed to take another party there in 2014.  The dates are Monday 10th November to Friday 14th November.  Accommodation will be either in the luxurious log lodges or in hotel rooms (numbers of these are limited).  Full details of the accommodation can be found at www.dorsetgolfresort.com and the price will be the same as this year £240 for dinner, bed and breakfast and includes rink fees.

Any member of a Club affiliated to Bowls Hampshire may join this break. Demand is, however, likely to be high so places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  If you would like to join us on this break please complete the attached form

Bowls Hampshire Christmas News

Christmas News from Bowls Hampshire

The 2013 year ended well with Tom Bishop of the Atherley Club going out to Christchurch, New Zealand, and winning the World Champion of Champion Singles title. What an achievement.  Well done Tom.  We are all delighted for you.

Those ladies who participate in County Competitions will be pleased also to learn that in 2014 all rounds of the County Competitions will be played in WHITES.  The Bowls England rule, implemented in 2013, which required all rounds prior to Last Eights to be played in greys proved very unpopular in Hampshire and, following a proposition by Hampshire to the Bowls England EGM, which was supported by other Counties, we now have the right to determine our own dress code for County competitions.

Whilst on the subject of Last Eights please note that in the New Year, a consultation paper will be issued on whether the County should be looking to change its arrangements for playing Last Eights.  This paper will be distributed to all Clubs and we would like feedback at the Spring Meetings.

Finally please find attached a notice regarding the Mini Tour to Dorset in November 2014.  This is open to any bowler playing in a Hampshire Club so, please, if possible, draw this to the attention of your members.  We realise the deadline is tight but it is essential this is met if we are to be able to reserve the accommodation.

Finally Presidents Ken Sutton and Ann Malcolm and all the Officers would like to wish all Hampshire Clubs a very Happy Christmas and a successful 2014.

Farnborough Bowlers are runners up
