Presentation Evening

IMG_6071

Another great presentation evening at the Farnham Golf Club.  A lovely meal and lots of trophies to award for all of the competition winners.  It was nice that several new bowlers picked up a few, particularly Chris Henderson and Anthony LaFrenais.

The highlight was the awarding off a new trophy for the most improved player going to Joan Moorcroft, see comment below

I was overwhelmed to receive the lovely new trophy in memory of Adrian Hill for “ The Most Improved Player”
I would like to share with you all the inscription on the trophy, which reads.
Adrian Hill – Remember with a smile.

Kind regards

Joan Moorcroft

An Evening of Entertainment

Friday 12th September. k Now there's a story.
Vicky, our President, laid on an evening of entertainment. A magician had been booked and went round the tables doing close-up magic while we ate our delicious cheese, bread and biscuit.

j Alec glad to get his £20 note back. After the food the magician provide a short show, the highlight was retrieving Alec’s £20 note from inside a walnut.

Much laughter was had in naming the Racoon, well done Alec for such an imaginative name.

Spring Walk Saturday 5th April 2014

 FARNBOROUGHBOWLING CLUB.
Hello! Walkers.
New Notice. The Real Thing
We have now planned the 2014 SpringWalk
SATURDAY 5
th April. Meet at 10.30am.
Venue:- THE BARLEY MOW, Winchfield. RG27 8DE

We  decided to repeat the walk we did in October 2010 from the Barley Mow at Winchfield, one that you all seemed to enjoy for its variety,  partly Basingstoke Canal, the Tundry Pond and the pleasant open aspect of the countryside.

Distance:-  2 Options.   The first, all starting together, is roughly 3 ½  miles.
At the end of Tundry Pond the route splits for the stronger/faster walkers to complete a walk of approx. 6 miles if they so wish.It is flat, but we cannot guarantee mud-free!!

So pray for good weather.  If it rains, bring your wets or just come for lunch.

The Barley Mow is a very pleasant pub and can cope OK with our numbers. However, our hostess Caroline requests that we place our orders (and pay?) before starting our walk. (Menus are available from the clubhouse) Toilets will be available

Plenty of parking space at the pub or across the road at the canal car-park.
