New Green OPEN

P1000152

On the 13th September 2016, contractors with their heavy machinery arrived to strip the grass from the old green and spent 2 weeks, cultivating, laying 200 tonnes of root zone and levelling.
After a delay caused by bad weather the new grass seed was sown on the 28th September.

Members had a long nervous wait to see how the new seed would germinate, fortunately the autumn and winter was good so the seed germinated quickly and the grass had its first cut in December.

After a good spring that allowed the new green to develop and we are open for bowling again.  We now have to learn how all the rinks play.

Race Night

FullSizeRender-10FullSizeRender-2 Saturday night was race night at Farnborough Bowling Club. A lot of neighing and whipping and a very enjoyable evening.  “Horses” with silly bowling names “raced” in equally silly named races for a grand prize of a packet of Polos.

Thanks to Liz for the photos and to all the members who took part in such a good fun spirit.

Aintree you need to watch out.
