National Wins

We have had 2 good wins in National Competitions over the last week.  On Tuesday we beat Oakley 51-31 in the Tony Allcock Trophy (2 Mixed Rinks) and on Sunday we beat Whitchurch 4-1 in the National Men’s Top Club.
Next Saturday we play Basingstoke Town at Farnborough in the National Men’s Two Fours, let’s hope we can continue the success.

Memorial Trophy

Congratulations to Martin Lee, Mick Browne and Pauline Lane for winning the Memorial Trophy yesterday.

They beat Chris Wright, Chris Henderson and Anne Hellier in a final which was won by five shots on the last end when Martin mange to take the jack back to all his team’s back bowls.

A very big thanks to all who supplied the
food and to those that laid it out so well also those that cleared away, washed up, served drinks, put the rinks out and away and all the other little jobs that got done and not forgetting Martin for organising the competition.

But the warmest thanks go to all that contributed to the Air Ambulance charity, we raised over £195 on the day.

A Big Thank You

A very big thank you to whoever put my bowls bag and spare bowls in the gents changing rooms.I popped up for a roll up on Monday and in my haste to lock up and get away I left the tools of the trade on the bench..When I went to the car today a large space in the boot alerted me to there disappearance,so once again thank you.

Directions to Medstead BC

Using Google I put a new entry into the From Here To There folder for those travelling to Medstead B.C.
I fell into the usual trap. My main marker for turning off the A31 at Four Marks i.e. Charters Car Sales, IS NO LONGER THERE. Gone! Vanished!
The sign post and road name is now just past a nice row of new homes.
Sorry. John

Green officially opens 25th April 3pm

After further consultation with the green keeper it has been decided that the green will officially open at 3pm on Saturday 25th April, the date of the fish and chip drive.  We are aware bowlers are disappointed at not being able to have some early season roll ups but it is important that the green is in the best condition to see us through the season.
