Picnic on the green

DSC01844Friday 9th September: bye bye green.
After 70 years, members of Farnborough Bowling Club said farewell to their green. Yesterday Farnborough members and their friends had a picnic lunch on the green followed by an exciting game of Crown Green.   It was fast, furious and great fun.
Monday the contractors arrived to create us a new green.

A&D 2 Wood Triples Runners-up

DSC01798Congratulations to Farnborough trio of Martin Lee, Keith Dunstone and Chris Henderson for reaching the finals of the Aldershot & District 2 Wood Triples Final.  For the second year running we were drawn against a strong Cove triple and despite as good start Cove gradually pulled ahead to finish up with a convincing win.
Our men played well and the Club is proud of them getting this far and maintaining our success in this competition over the last few years.  Winners next year?

Farnham & District Finalist

Last night Farnborough Bowling Club secured a place in the Farnham & District Boyd Shield final by beating Tongham 68 – 58.  Our team will be going, along with Geoff Ringrose and Harrison Ash who qualified for the Men’s Pairs with a well deserved win over a very strong Cove pair, on the 4th September to Farnborough Gate.  We are still in the Mixed Pairs so we could have a third entry.
