Win in the Men’s National Two Fours
A very tight game on Saturday when we beat Basingstoke Town 33-31 in the Two Fours. Barry Lee’s rink finished first and won by one shot. Martin Lee’s rink was two up going in to the last end so only needed to make sure they didn’t give away more than one. With Basingstoke Town having the last bowl it became very tense with them holding 1(The other rink were on stand by as they had to play the extra end should the result be a draw). Fortunately for Farnborough, Basingstoke Town were unable to get a second shot.
National Wins
We have had 2 good wins in National Competitions over the last week. On Tuesday we beat Oakley 51-31 in the Tony Allcock Trophy (2 Mixed Rinks) and on Sunday we beat Whitchurch 4-1 in the National Men’s Top Club.
Next Saturday we play Basingstoke Town at Farnborough in the National Men’s Two Fours, let’s hope we can continue the success.
Memorial Trophy
Congratulations to Martin Lee, Mick Browne and Pauline Lane for winning the Memorial Trophy yesterday.

They beat Chris Wright, Chris Henderson and Anne Hellier in a final which was won by five shots on the last end when Martin mange to take the jack back to all his team’s back bowls.

Green officially opens 25th April 3pm
After further consultation with the green keeper it has been decided that the green will officially open at 3pm on Saturday 25th April, the date of the fish and chip drive. We are aware bowlers are disappointed at not being able to have some early season roll ups but it is important that the green is in the best condition to see us through the season.
